My Story
I am a dedicated gamer and designer who graduated with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Game Development June 2019. Since a very young age I have been fascinated with all aspects of game design creation and I especially enjoy animation. After graduation I hope to obtain employment in my field of training; computer game related, with specific career interest in animation and preferably in the Pacific Northwest. As you can see by my body of work examples shown on this site I also have extensive training and experience in graphic design and digital art. Additionally, I am very familiar with a variety of code and programming languages, plus general web development; all areas which are of career interest to me, as well.
Most of my life I have lived in the Portland area and I love our close proximity to the beach, rivers and mountains, which provide numerous recreational activities. I especially enjoy camping, swimming and being pulled behind a speed boat on an inner-tube. Arcades and fun centers are a favorite, as well. I am pretty wicked go cart driver, if I do say so myself.
I am definitely a history lover, especially ancient history pertaining to Romans, Vikings and early Egyptians. I really loved visiting the Seattle Washington King Tut exhibit in 2012, where I was able to see and photograph actual items found in the young King’s tomb. I also enjoy regularly checking out our numerous local museums and science centers. I have a passion for travel and plan to go to Hawaii in 2020. My passport is ready and waiting for all kinds of future travel adventures!
I will also add that I am a big fan of the WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment. Watching all that drama and those crazy wrestling matches is just so much fun. A few other items of note; I cook a mean hamburger, but that’s about all, I am always game for an action movie and if you want to head out for some Mexican food (or ice cream), I’m your man. Second to ice cream I believe coffee is the elixir of life.
Finally, I would say that helping others is a priority for me. I participate in church activities benefiting my community and I am always active in annual food drives, whether school sponsored or community based. Gathering and contributing clothes and toys for foster kids is also important to me, as I was a foster child, so I personally recognize the need and realize how much these things are appreciated by kids who may not have a lot. Also, most of my life my family and I have sponsored children in Guatemala through a national non-profit. While the assistance is mostly financial, we do regularly exchange letters, pictures and gifts with our sponsored child, to offer support and advice, etc. I feel very strongly that mentoring can really help disadvantaged and at risk youth, so I have decided to carry this family tradition forward into my own life. Furthermore, for several years I was a youth mentor at a Resident Summer Camp, which I definitely enjoyed and feel had a positive impact on younger campers. Additionally, I have volunteered at a local non-profit that promotes education and personal growth for all people, where I contributed my time and expertise in digital media, advertising and video production for their community event planning. Recycling is another thing I think is important for our planet and I personally do all I can to contribute in any way possible.
That summarizes a bit about me. In addition, on my Graphic Design page I included a copy of a personal newsletter brochure I did several years ago that fills in some extra information about my earlier life, if you care to check it out.
